Manufacturing Roadworthy CCTV Trailers for Enhanced Security

Our client, a British construction company, required CCTV Trailers for security purposes. Steelway, our sister company, were responsible for designing the product, ensuring it met industry requirements and functional specifications. CEL was then tasked with manufacturing these mobile surveillance units, ensuring they were durable, reliable and met all regulatory standards. We managed the entire production process, from prototype steelwork to final pass-off.

Challenges

One of the key challenges we faced was ensuring the trailers met road worthiness standards. Our customer required assistance in getting each unit approved, which meant transporting them individually to Millbrook testing Site for assessment. This process was labour-intensive and required careful coordination, but we remained committed to meeting our customer’s requirements.

Solutions

After successfully developing the prototype, CEL took on the complete project, overseeing every stage of the production cycle. The CCTV trailers moved seamlessly through our shop floor, where employee expertise and cutting-edge technology came together. From the initial steel fabrication using premium-grade materials to advanced CNC folding and laser cutting, every detail was engineered for strength and durability. Skilled welders and engineers assembled the trailers, ensuring they met exacting standards.

To enhance longevity and provide a sleek finish, the units were galvanised, primed and painted, offering superior protection against wear and corrosion. As the final step, our team integrated essential components, including wiring looms and tires, before conducting rigorous quality checks to ensure each trailer left our Telford facility fully operational and road-ready. This process highlights our dedication to providing our customers with products that reach their expectations and more.
